Halo

Your work, represented.

An AI layer that turns the signal you already create, like meetings, commits, design edits and tickets, into status updates in your own voice, sized for a teammate, a manager or an exec. It speaks for you, never about you.

Halo · Home
Halo home screen in light mode: what Halo is saying about you, today's digest, schedule and work in progress Halo home screen in dark mode
Halo on iPhone: the home screen with what Halo is saying about you and today’s digest
Goal
Take status updates off people’s plates without turning their work into something to be monitored.
Challenge
An AI that talks about your work has to earn trust: what it shares, who sees it, and when you get a say.
Result
A full working product with one trust dial (Curated, Balanced, Ambient), a brand system and an 84-second launch film.
Role
Sole designer and product lead

Arriba Perú

Safer work. Clearer rights. In the phone they already have.

A bilingual mobile platform co-designed with 15 domestic workers in Lima: verified families, pay checked against the legal minimum, rights read aloud, Yape and cash in one wallet, and help that never draws attention.

  • Verified familiesAnonymous ratings from past workers.
  • Fair-pay checkEvery offer against Peru’s legal minimum.

  • Learn by videoA listen-only mode for busy hands.
  • Help, quietlySoft check-ins and one slide to alert.

“Safety in domestic work today is not built into the system. It is built into relationships.”

Insight from my conversation with Dr. María Amalia Pesantes, medical anthropologist
Goal
Bring safety, clarity and opportunity to Peru’s 420,000 to 500,000 domestic workers, most of whom work behind closed doors.
Challenge
Design it with them, not for them, from Syracuse, on the tools they already trust: WhatsApp video calls and voice-note diaries.
Result
A working Android-first prototype in Spanish and English, with six flows from sign-up to a discreet emergency alert.

AI Native iOS

AI, under your thumb.

A concept for iOS 27. The assistant moves into the dock, answers land on your home screen, and nothing sends, books or changes without your yes. Designed twice: once for iOS 26, then rebuilt when iOS 27 shipped.

  1. 1
Answers land on your home screen.Small questions get small answers. Your apps stay put.
  2. 2
It shows you before it acts.A preview, one clear button and five seconds to undo.
  3. 3
You can see where it thinks. On iPhone, Private Cloud, or the assistant you chose.
The AI Native iOS prototype: an ask bar in the dock above the keyboard, with suggested questions on the home screen

Live prototype. Tap the screen to use it.

  1. 4
Only one dock slot moves.Phone, Messages and Mail never do, so muscle memory works.
  2. 5
Your history is one swipe up.Not in a separate app. Kept on your iPhone for 30 days.
  3. See how each one traces back to the research
Goal
Make AI feel like part of iOS, not another app you have to open.
Challenge
iOS 27 made the assistant smarter, but typing to it still starts at the top of the screen, and its history lives in a separate app.
Result
A working iOS 27 prototype with nine flows, from quick answers to a booked table, and a clear record of how it grew out of version 1.
Role
Sole designer, both versions
Type
Speculative concept, revamped in 2026

Scowtt

AI that finds a company’s best leads and books the meeting.

I designed its colors, its original website and its product, and explored its first logo directions, growing from design intern to Head of Design and staying on as a contractor through its $12M Series A.

Goal
Help a sales leader understand a brand-new category, the AI SDR, and trust it, in one scroll.
Challenge
The product works where nobody can see it, inside a CRM and an inbox, and the pitch kept moving.
Result
Four logo directions, an eight-color palette, the original website and a UI system for web and mobile, carried through the Series A.

Process

How I work.

Six habits that show up in every project. A few of them you can try.

Research is a design decision.

For Arriba Perú I couldn’t get to Lima, so the research went where people already were: WhatsApp video calls and voice-note diaries. No typing, no scheduled calls, no literacy barrier. That choice shaped the product.

Prototypes are arguments.

A mockup can’t tell you if five seconds is long enough to undo. A working prototype can. Try it.

Trust is an interface element.

In Halo, how much the AI shares on its own is one dial, not a buried setting. Turn it.

4 updates need you8 shared automatically. Sensitive ones wait for a once-a-day digest.

Systems before screens.

Industrial design taught me that the object, the packaging, the shelf and the interaction are one system. A screen is one output of it.

AI, used on purpose.

Claude and ChatGPT help me synthesize research and explore copy. AI-assisted code lets me turn designs into working prototypes fast. The decisions about layout, interaction and trust stay mine.

About

Hi, I’m Matias.

I think in systems and human factors, not just screens.

I trained in Industrial & Interaction Design at Syracuse, took UX Design for AI Products at Stanford, and I’m now in the Communication Design MPS at Parsons in New York.

I move fast and collaborate close. I ship with engineers, run research with users, and hold my own in the room with founders, PMs and marketers. I’ve led design end to end, from a startup’s first logo directions to a product carried through its Series A, so I know how to own scope and translate ambiguity into direction.

I care about brand-specific, research-led work that resists copying whatever pattern the big platforms are running that week. I’m bilingual in English and Spanish, with roots in Peru, and that shapes what I choose to work on.

Experience

Where I’ve designed.

    • Prototype functional, interactive demos with AI tools, moving clients from concept to a testable product efficiently.
    • Integrate AI into the design workflow for research synthesis, copy exploration and deliverable production.
    • Lead design across product, brand and marketing for a sustainability data platform, shipping investor-facing deliverables that supported funding milestones.
    • Developed the brand system now used across product UI, the marketing site and investor decks, cutting design turnaround and keeping everything consistent.
    • Partner directly with the founding team to ship product UI, campaigns and data visualization.
    • Collaborated with the product team on a new homepage that elevates the platform’s travel-focused brand and improves engagement.
    • Created wireframes and high-fidelity mockups that balance visual appeal with intuitive navigation.
    • Applied user-centered design principles for a cohesive experience across web and mobile.
    • Built a complete brand identity system that reflects the company’s mission and visual direction.
    • Designed the full user interface for the company website, translating brand standards into an intuitive digital experience.
    • Delivered a cohesive visual language and guidelines to keep print and digital touchpoints consistent.

Let’s talk about what you’re building.

I’m open to UI/UX and product design roles. If you’re building something where design and AI meet, or you’re an early team that needs range across brand and product, I want to hear about it.

I reply within a day, usually the same one.
